They glow in the darkness, and there is a bright point of searing heat inside each of them. The crystals themselves have a strange power hidden within them. Their husks were imprinted with strong purpose, causing them to continue mining even after death. When the Infection took hold, many of the miners died and were subsequently reanimated. Besides regular bug miners who mined the crystals with their claw-picks, creatures such as the Shardmites and Glimbacks were used to carry around carts and machines. The crystal ore contains energy, not as powerful as Soul but less lethal. In Hallownest's prime, Crystal Peak's mines supplied the kingdom's cities with a constant supply of crystals. A nearby chasm leads to the Resting Grounds. In the east part of the area are tunnels filled with old mining golems, one of which contains the Crystal Heart Ability.įurther below this room is a Snail Shaman temple where the Descending Dark Spell can be obtained. On the summit of the mountain stands a statue of the Radiance which holds a Pale Ore. A Mask Shard can be found after this boss fight.Ī lift in the northwest part of Crystal Peak connects the area to Dirtmouth.
Its second form, Enraged Guardian, is located above this room, which can only be accessed once the Monarch Wings are obtained. In the centre of Crystal Peak is a Bench with the Crystal Guardian boss. Conveyor belts can be found in many rooms which transport the crystal shards. The crystals are present across the entire area, with some tunnels having crystals lining the top and bottom of the cavern. (Please make answers as spoiler-free as possible).Crystal Peak contains extensive tunnels throughout the mountain which were used to mine its crystals. Sorry that I don't recall the precise names of any of them.
I may have done things in an unusual order, because I don't have a light source or a double-jump, either of which would make some of these passages accessible.Ībilities I do have: wall jump, dash, super dash, as well as sharpened nail, blade whirl, vengeful soul (ranged magic attack), and downward magic strike (breaks floor). This is the most frustrating, because it seems to be crossable in theory, but it's dark and there's a crystal hunter flying around making it exceedingly difficult to get across. Only accessible with a high jump that I don't seem to have.Ī dark passage with a crystal floor. I can see the silhouette of what looks like a toll tower, but I can't interact with it. This is how I first got into the cavern, but it's now at the bottom of a long wide well with overhangs to prevent wall-jumping.Ī dark passage, blocked. You can charge a super dash on top of the adjacent platform, but the resulting way across is blocked by another wall.
The first part of this long cavern is crossable with a super dash, but unfortunately the last part of the cavern has a long vertical drop following by a long width of crystal-covered floor too wide to cross with a dash. Unfortunately, all of them are inaccessible or extremely difficult. There are five things on the map which might be exits. I am playing Hollow Knight entirely blind, and I seem to have gotten myself stuck in Crystal Peak.
